A. VOVF translation agency translates all your documents and professional texts in many fields: brochures, presentations, press releases, reports, contracts, subtitling, etc. This list is not exhaustive. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Q? How do I choose a translation agency?
A. There are many translation agencies on the market, which makes it difficult to choose the right translation agency for you. The best advice we can give you is to talk to someone at the agency and not hesitate to ask questions. If you feel the agency knows what they are doing and masters the linguistic combinations you require, then that’s the right agency for you. Additionally, they must always be willing to communicate! If the agency does not meet either of these two criteria, it’s time to look for another agency. Next, take a look at their references, their clients and samples of work they have carried out in your field.
Our experts at VOVF will listen to all your needs and provide tailor-made solutions. Many companies have already chosen VOVF for the quality of its translation services and references.
Q? Why should I use a professional translation service?
A. Since you are a professional in your area of expertise, how you communicate is important; it could make or break your brand image. You’ve invested time and money to market yourself and present the right image and message; why not do the same when translating them? It is important to capitalise on committed agencies to maximise your communication globally. Consequently, translation will play a major role representing your brand in another culture as it is your medium of communication in a foreign language. To succeed at this, it is important to entrust your translations to a professional translation agency who, in addition to being the best service provider, will also be a business partner.
Q? Is being bilingual or trilingual enough to translate?
A. No, being bilingual or trilingual isn’t enough to be a professional translator. Why? Because you don’t just become a professional translator overnight. Being a professional translator requires specific skills that takes years of training and experience to develop and perfect techniques. A professional translator has excellent writing skills in the target language, which is the translator’s native language and the one they translate into.
Q? What does source language and target language mean?
A. The source language is the language of the document to be translated. This document is also called the source document.
The target language is the language into which the document will be translated.
Q? Why does your team consist only of native translators?
A. First of all, it is important to understand what native translators are. Native translators are translators who translate only into their mother tongue. Translation is a difficult task; a translator translates the meaning of a text, not the words, and for this they need to be aware of all the nuances and subtleties of the target language. This is only possible when a translator works into their mother tongue. This is a sure-fire way to avoid clumsiness and inaccuracy that are recurrent in translations carried out by non-native translators. This is the first criterion for quality.
Q? What pricing criteria do you use for your quotes?
A. VOVF takes into account many factors before providing a translation quote. This is why it is almost impossible to provide rates without fully analysing your translation project. Among the various criteria analysed for a translation quote (linguistic combinations, deadlines / how urgent the translation is, text volume, technicity, etc.) the most relevant criterion is the volume of text to be translated. VOVF counts the number of source words, or the number of words in the document to be translated.
Q? How do you count the number of words in a document?
A. First of all, VOVF analyses the document in detail by taking into account the client’s specific instructions on the content. We then count the number of words to be translated in the source text, often using specialized software.
